Course Requirements
Master degree: At least 24 of the 30 credits required for the degree must be taken from the Department of Food and Nutrition. Remaining credits can be earned in other departments. At least one course from the Nutrigenomics Team or Functional Foods Team is required for a master’s degree.
Doctoral degree: : At least 36 of the 60 credits required for a doctoral degree must be taken from the Department of Food and Nutrition. Doctoral students must take one class from the Functional Foods Team (Special Topics in Microbial Genomics and Food Enzymology, Evaluation Method of Functional Food) and two courses from the Nutrigenomics Team (Clinical Nutritional Genomics, Functional Foods and Nutrigenomics, Cell Signaling and Nutrition, Nutrional Epigenetics 1,2, Current Issues and Recent Advances in Micronutrients). Remaining credits which are related to genomics can be earned in other departments with the approval of the student’s thesis advisor.

The doctoral examination includes a test of the student’s ability to present his/her own research.
Thesis Examination
Master of Science(M.S.)

Undergraduate-graduate combined administration
Yonsei University makes complementary undergraduate courses available to current graduate
.. students through its graduate portal service, if they wish to apply.
This eases the burden on students by preventing overlap of similar subjects in both the
.. undergraduate and graduate program. It additionally encourages students who graduated from
.. other major fields to complete an undergraduate major. (Credits from undergraduate complementary
.. courses are not counted as credits toward graduation)
Opening of undergraduate?graduate unified course
Third- or fourth-year undergraduate students at Yonsei University can register for graduate courses
.. when they submit their registration form with an academic advisor’s official approval with dates to
.. the office of Academic Affairs.
Primary graduate courses can be taken as part of the undergraduate-graduate program in order to
.. encourage undergraduate students to take advanced major classes.
Current undergraduate students can register in up to 12 graduate credits; students should decide
.. whether the acquired graduate credits should be used for undergraduate or graduate graduation.
Substituting workshops and technical seminars for seminars
Attendance of three workshops or technical seminars can be substituted for one seminar credit.
Master’s degree course: Attendance of a Nutrigenomics workshop or technical seminar can be
